Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs: Text

What is the clinic's Covid-19 protocol?

We continue to follow the latest guidelines from Shared Health. Currently masks are optional for both staff and patients however, our therapists are happy to don a mask if requested. We also ask that you wear a mask if you have cold/flu symptoms. Our equipment and treatment tools are sanitized after each use and there is more than enough room in the gym area to ensure proper social distancing.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

In Manitoba, you do not need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist in a private clinic. Extended health plans usually cover physiotherapy treatment, but some may require a referral before coverage can begin. Contact your private health insurance provider to learn more about your physiotherapy benefits.

How long will my appointment be?

Initial assessments take approximately 60 minutes and subsequent treatments are usually 45-60 minutes.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring your private insurance card or WCB/MPI claim number. Also, wear clothing that can adequately expose the area being treated. We ask that you arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete an information form.

What insurance companies do you direct bill?

Currently we can direct bill:
Canada Life / Blue Cross / SunLife / Manulife / Greenshield / Worker's Compensation Board (WCB) / Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI).

Where is the clinic located?

We are located in the Rougeau Plaza strip mall on Regent Avenue. When heading east into Transcona, we are on the right hand side and other landmarks within the strip mall include Bulk Barn and The Fishing Hole.

Where can I park?

The first 3 parking stalls in front of the clinic are reserved for Glen Young Physiotherapy and indicated by signs. You may also park anywhere else in the parking lot.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes, we also offer Tele-Rehab. If you prefer to attend a physiotherapy session in the comforts of your own home, all you would need is a computer with a camera/mic and an internet connection.
